Sustainability

Environmental, social and governance (ESG)

As a part of our vision to "be the preferred supplier ensuring safe and sustainable operations", IMS takes great responsibility in making long-term decisions which positively affect our environmental, social and governance footprints.

Sustainable development goals

In the view of UN's Sustainable Development Goals, IMS group, with all its daughter companies, has made an analyzis of how we are contributing to sustainable business today, and how we may improve sustainability in the future. Our aim is to improve continuously!

IMS group (IMS Technologies) focus areas:

Strengthen the prevention and treatment of abuse, including narcotic substances and harmful use of alcohol. IMS group has a zero-tolerance policy for the use of intoxicants during work hours. IMS group sponsors the MOT campaign which is aimed at creating positive attitudes among graduating students, and we wish to continue in the future.

By 2030 achieve a significant increase in the number of young people and adults with skills, among other things in technical subjects and vocational subjects, which are relevant for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. IMS group has a close collaboration with upper secondary schools in our region to ensure recruitment for the future in several fields. We also participate in vocational fairs at secondary schools.

Increase economic productivity through diversification, technological modernization, and innovation, particularly focusing on profitable and labor-intensive sectors. IMS is continually automating more of its work processes. The operating companies have 5 fully integrated robots in production.

There is also implemented machinery that produces wiring packages based on programmed technical documentation, as well as an advanced automation system for sheet processing.

The processes for loading and unloading sheets are fully automated, as well as all picking of cut parts and placing of finished parts on pallets is performed completely automatically. Fast and ergonomically correct.

By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and transition industries to be more sustainable, with more efficient use of resources and greater use of clean and environmentally friendly technology forms and industrial processes, where all countries make an effort according to their own ability and capacity. Increased automation. We are increasing the ratio of machine hours to man-hours.

By 2030, significantly reduce waste through bans, reduction, recycling, and reuse. We currently sort at the source, have a return scheme for surplus metals from production, and are constantly improving our 'packing' of waste containers to transport less air.

By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce all forms of marine pollution, especially from land-based activities, including pollution caused by marine debris and nutrients.

IMS group contribute to this through our BWMS product group. We offer the market two types of ballast water treatment plants for ships. In addition, we offer the market incinerators so that ships can burn trash and other waste onboard with as little gas emission as possible

Ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory, and representative decision-making processes at all levels. Through the trust representative system and the Working Environment Committee (AMU). In addition, we use our change management procedure when major internal changes are to be implemented.

This procedure is to ensure that those affected by the change will have a say and the opportunity to provide input.
