Growing a career in manufacturing at IMS Technologies

Meet Karina

Careers in manufacturing are often built step by step, through hands-on experience, continuous learning, and strong collaboration. At IMS Technologies, Karina’s journey shows how initiative and a supportive working environment can lead to long-term professional growth.

Karina joined IMS Technologies somewhat unexpectedly. She started as a hired-in production worker and was later offered a permanent position within automation. From the start, what stood out to her was the working environment: skilled colleagues, a welcoming atmosphere, and a culture defined by collaboration and mutual respect. Combined with varied and engaging workdays, this made IMS a place where she could see a future.

Her career in manufacturing has developed steadily over time. Karina began as a machine operator, moved on to working as an assembler, and today holds the role of Production Coordinator. She is motivated by learning and embraces new challenges, consistently taking advantage of opportunities to expand her skills. At IMS, this willingness to grow is encouraged and actively supported.

“No two weeks are the same,” Karina explains. Her role involves initiating projects, following them through production, and handling challenges as they arise. Close collaboration across departments plays a key role in her everyday work. By working together and drawing on in-house expertise, challenges are solved efficiently – while also creating valuable learning opportunities.

Through her time at IMS Technologies, Karina has developed broad technical and organizational competence relevant to modern manufacturing roles, including:

  • Control cabinet wiring

  • Inventory management and Lean principles

  • Structuring work in a fast-paced production environment

  • Adapting quickly to changing requirements

Continuous learning is a natural part of working in manufacturing at IMS, supported by trust, knowledge-sharing, and strong professional standards.

Karina describes the culture at IMS as trust-based, collaborative, and defined by professional integrity. There is a low threshold for asking questions or sharing ideas, and employees are encouraged to take ownership and grow into new responsibilities. The diversity of backgrounds and experience within the team is seen as a strength and helping one another succeed is simply part of how work gets done.

What Karina values most is the balance between high professional expectations and a supportive working environment. She is proud to be part of a manufacturing company that delivers high-quality solutions, continues to develop, and creates real value for its customers.

In her role as Production Coordinator, Karina contributes directly to IMS Technologies’ overall mission by ensuring that products are delivered with the right quality, at the right time – strengthening IMS’s position as a reliable and trusted partner in manufacturing.

Her message to those considering careers in manufacturing is clear:

“If you are looking for a workplace where you can grow professionally, take on meaningful challenges, and be part of a strong professional community, IMS is a great place to be.”

Her advice to new colleagues reflects the culture she has experienced:

Be curious. Ask questions. Take initiative. The opportunities are there for those who choose to use them.
